Housing & Neighbors

Landlord disputesMediation can assist with conflicts that arise in neighborhoods and between landlords and tenants:
• Rental property or landlord/tenant issues
• Roommate disagreements
• Neighbor conflicts involving noise, pets, and other disputes

In mediation, your mediators will provide an environment for each party to discuss their point of view and will keep the conversation on track respectfully. They will assist parties to identify all the issues and brainstorm potential solutions. If an agreement is reached, they will write it up and send it to the parties, who may have it reviewed by legal counsel before signing if desired. Please contact our office for more information if you think mediation might be the answer you’ve been looking for in your housing or neighbor struggle.

With thanks to a grant from Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Mission & Benevolence Committee, MCC is proud to offer free mediations for renters and landlords in the greater Charlottesville area to help avert eviction. This program will be active until grant funds are depleted. Please contact us if you are interested in mediating your housing dispute at no cost!
